This is a 5 X7 black/white photograph of a dirt street with nine wood structures on it. One on the right side of the image appears to still be under construction. Title(s) by Carpenter, L (DIC/PMP).
View looking South on Main Street of Hill City. This picture would have had to have been taken in the fall or late summer of 1891 as it shows in the foreground the nearly completed Harney Peak Hotel. The hotel was started in 1891 and was completed overwinter and accupied in the spring of 1892. Donor: Joh J. Gerken 2/2/76
