Pierre - Railroad Pierre, SD - Railroads ""Pontoon Bridge"; This bridge was built before 1890 and served for several years. The ""island"" here looks llike sand-bar, but there were trees at the other end of it. The bridge ran across the island and over the channel to Ft. Pierre. The water on the Pierre side, here depicted, was not fast or deep, although it looks rough in this picture. The bluffs along here are still tree-less. Donated: Marth Coon.
